We are thrilled to announce that FOREMAST will be part of the 6th International Conference on Maritime Autonomous Surface Ship (ICMASS 2024), scheduled for 29-30 October 2024, in Trondheim, Norway. This year’s conference will focus on crucial themes such as green shipping, smart and autonomous ship and port operations, maritime safety, and digitalization.

FOREMAST will collaborate with other innovative projects including AUTOFLEX, SEAMLESS, and ReNEW as part of the joint session titled “Navigating the Future: Innovations and Advancements in Smart, Autonomous Inland and Short-Sea Shipping”. In this session, FOREMAST will be represented by our partner ABB, who will showcase the project’s contributions to advancing sustainable practices in inland waterways and short-sea operations.

During the session, the participants will have an opportunity to see focused presentations from each project, which will delve into our key achievements in green technologies, autonomous operations, and maritime safety advancements.

After the project pitches, an interactive panel discussion will address critical questions about the technical challenges and opportunities in integrating autonomous technologies. Standardization approaches, adoption barriers, and business models to facilitate the shift of cargo to waterborne transport are just some topics that will be touched upon during the panel discussion and the Q&A with the audience.
