FOREMAST to be featured at TRA2026 with stand and conference paper

FOREMAST is delighted to announce its participation in the upcoming Transport Research Arena (TRA) 2026, the largest transport research and innovation conference in Europe. The event will take place from 18 to 21 May 2026 in Budapest, Hungary, under the theme “Re-Generation in Transport”, which reflects both continuous technological advancement and the growing contribution of the next generation of researchers.

In addition to its stand presence at part of Waterborne platformFOREMAST will also contribute to the conference programme with an accepted oral paper. The paper, prepared by our partner Jeannet Bolther, PNO Innovation and titled “Shifting Freight from Road to Water: Mapping the innovation ecosystem for automated and zero-emission inland and coastal shipping” (Paper #391), has been selected for presentation during a technical session at TRA 2026.

As part of the Waterborne platform stand, FOREMAST will showcase its vision for smart and sustainable inland waterway mobility, alongside other EU-funded initiatives, including sister project AUTOFLEX. This joint presence offers an excellent opportunity to engage with researchers, industry professionals, policymakers, and project stakeholders, and to demonstrate how FOREMAST contributes to the regeneration of Europe’s transport systems.

The YRA2026 conference will address key thematic areas such as green mobility and decarbonisation, transport digitalisation, user-centred mobility, and planning and operation—all closely aligned with FOREMAST’s mission and objectives.

We look forward to welcoming attendees at the Waterborne stand in Budapest and sharing our latest insights and innovations. Stay tuned for more updates as the event approaches.
