FOREMAST Showcases Smart Waterborne Solutions at Transport Logistic Munich 2025

The FOREMAST project proudly took part in Transport Logistic Munich 2025, the world’s leading trade fair for logistics, mobility, IT, and supply chain management. This year’s edition broke records, gathering over 2,700 exhibitors and 77,000 visitors from around the globe to explore the future of logistics and transport.

FOREMAST was showcased at the ALICE (Alliance for Logistics Innovation through Collaboration in Europe) stand, where Magellan Circle and ALICE were present as project partners to engage with stakeholders, present project outcomes, and contribute to conversations shaping Europe’s sustainable logistics agenda.

The project highlighted three cutting-edge innovations aimed at enabling autonomous, zero-emission waterborne transport for sustainable urban logistics:

  • Small Flexible Autonomous Zero Emission Vessel: a compact and adaptable design tailored for intra-urban waterways

  • Simulation of an SFAZ Network for Urban Logistics: showcasing how interconnected vessel networks could serve last-mile deliveries

  • Digital Twin-Driven Design: leveraging simulation tools to optimize vessel performance, energy use, and integration into urban logistics ecosystems

These solutions were among 75 innovations presented at the stand, representing 24 EU-funded projects aligned with key themes including decarbonisation, digitalisation, automation, and resilience. All contributions reflect the shared vision of the Physical Internet and support the goals of the EU Green Deal.

The event provided a unique platform for networking, partnership building, and presenting the role of inland waterborne transport in the future of sustainable and connected logistics systems across Europe.
