FOREMAST was thrilled to participate in the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona on 6 November, where we joined a dynamic panel discussion titled “Multimodal Smart City Mobility and Logistics in a Synchronized Approach.” The session, led by PNO and featuring partners from Aimsun, the City of Gdynia, and Forum Virium Helsinki, offered an in-depth look at synchronized approaches to urban mobility.
FOREMAST was represented on the panel by our partner Jeanett Bolther from PNO, alongside panelists from other leading projects: SYNCHROMODE, DISCO, SPINE, and CLEVER. Together, they discussed how cities can overcome challenges like congestion and emissions by coordinating transport systems across public and private sectors. FOREMAST presented insights on our automated vessel logistics solutions, emphasizing the benefits of zero-emission, climate-neutral transport for urban areas.
The session also highlighted the importance of data-driven decision-making and real-time logistics management. By leveraging tools like digital twins and multifunctional data spaces, discussed by other panelists, cities can adapt quickly to traffic changes and demand fluctuations, enhancing resilience and efficiency. FOREMAST emphasized how these technologies, combined with collaborative partnerships, are essential for building adaptable urban transport systems that can scale across diverse city environments. This forward-looking discussion provided practical takeaways for policymakers, city planners, and industry leaders aiming to implement synchronized, multimodal transport solutions across Europe.
We appreciate everyone who attended and contributed to this engaging session. Together, we’re paving the way for cleaner, more efficient cities.
